The committee meets on a regular basis throughout the year.
TREASURER
We are looking for someone to oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.
Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place.
Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation.
Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.
SENIOR CARETAKER (PART-TIME)
Hours: 26 hours per week (on-site)
Salary: From £14.50 per hour
The Park Centre Kingswood is looking for a reliable, proactive, and experienced Senior Caretaker
to help ensure our community centre remains safe, secure, clean, and welcoming for staff, hirers, and visitors.
This is a hands-on role that combines caretaking, maintenance, health and safety compliance, security, and team supervision. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the centre and will help maintain high standards across all facilities.
Flexibility is essential, as the role includes a varied shift pattern with evening and weekend working.
Key Responsibilities:

Open, close, secure, and monitor the centre, acting as a key holder and responding to alarms when required.

Carry out health and safety checks, support fire safety procedures, and report hazards or maintenance issues.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the building, including room set-ups and clear-downs for events and bookings.

Undertake the daily set-up and breakdown of rooms, including the regular moving and arranging of tables, chairs, and equipment for activities, meetings, and events.

Undertake minor repairs, general maintenance, porterage duties, and coordinate larger repairs with external contractors.

Manage caretaking supplies, maintain basic records, and assist with rotas and operational administration.

Supervise and support the caretaking team, allocating tasks, monitoring standards, and assisting with staff training and development.

Provide excellent customer service to staff, hirers, and visitors, helping to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site management role.

Basic DIY and practical maintenance skills.

Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.

Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Experience supervising or supporting a small team.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

The ability to work independently and use initiative.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

A good level of physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
Important Information:
This is an active and, at times, physically demanding role. Daily room set-ups and clear-downs form a significant part of the position, and the successful candidate must be comfortable carrying out manual handling duties, cleaning, and moving furniture and equipment throughout the centre.
